This clay extending dry polymer is made up of metal oxides and alkalines. When CE-18 is added to bentonite based drilling muds, it increases gel strength without compromising viscosity for pumpability. CE-18 also has a unique ability to instantly turn from a liquid to an apparent solid in the absence of flow, and back to a liquid when flow resumes.
